How to Root Xiaomi Redmi Note 2

This tutorial will teach how to Root your Redmi Note 2/Prime. To perform rooting on Redmi Note 2/Prime is not as complicated, as most people would think. There are a couple of ways, this being the simplest. All you need to remember is to use a Beta Developer ROM. I have personally flashed and tried MIUI 7 Beta ROM and it automatically will provide the access to root the device.

From your PC/Laptop:-

1. Click the link below and download:-

Hermes_6.2.18_v7-5.0.zip

2. Create a “downloaded_rom” folder, copy the Zip file, you just downloaded into it. Transfer the “downloaded_rom” folder into the Internal Memory of your Redmi Note 2/Prime via USB connection.

3. GOTO Updater > Choose Update Package > stroll to the "downloaded_rom" folder > click on “xiaomi.eu_multi_hermes_5.10.22_v7-5.0.zip”, as shown below:-

4. The flash process will start and takes a couple of minutes and the updated images below:-

On your device:-

5. Go to Security > Permissions > click the top-right gear icon > Enable Permission Manager.

6. Install any apps that require root access eg. Titanium Backup, Flashify or apps of your choice.

7. Once installed open the application, the application will then require root access.

8. To give Root Access to these apps. GOTO Security > Root Access Permissions > Enable those apps that require root access earlier.

9. Re-open those apps that require root access earlier. Just click next, next, allow & accept to proceed with those apps.

Well, as I have mentioned earlier, this works on MIUI 7 for Redmi Note 2/Prime, which has provided the root access without having to install additional applications for rooting.

To Unroot, simply just retrack from Step 5 to Step 1, and you are good as new.
